My Bio
I was born on the early morning of March 9th, 1951, in Columbus Georgia, the eldest son of a Buffalo Soldier. I have a little brother named Leon.
My dad, Sgt. Theodore R. Hayes, Sr. was defending the interest of the United States of America at the Yallew River in Korea during the U.S/Korean Conflict (war).
In fact, when my mother, pregnant with me heard of China's sudden entry into the war against freedom, she was pretty upset and sure that her husband was killed in the attack.
Thankful to GOD, Sgt. Hayes, who also saw combat in Europe earlier in WWII, did not loose his life, but came home to see his little Ted grow up to be the nation's leading homeless activist.
My family's household atmosphere of spiritually, a strong sense of justice, fairness and social consciousness is what sowed and nourished the seeds of passion for the betterment of my fellow human beings.
My formative years (12 to 17) were significantly affected and framed by an active participation in the Boys Scouts of America.
The dramatic incident that ignited my activism for Homeless was a Tent City demonstration set up by local activists in Los Angeles during the winter holiday season of 1984. My apparent sudden and unexpected visibility through the news media as a result of my activism, gave momentum to the Homeless cause. By GOD's Grace and Mercy, I shocked government authorities and moved them to take various actions to address homelessness.
In 1993, I dared to run as an official candidate for Mayor of LA, demonstrating that I possessed a broad array of knowledge and experience on the many issues concerning the quality of urban life in Los Angeles.
Also in 1993 (November), my colleagues and I launched the world renowned Dome Village Transitional, Affordable, Transportable Shelter/Housing for the Homeless, which was the most unique and innovative concept to end homelessness in the modern western world.
In February 1998, I delivered to the White House my proposal for the creation of a National Homeless Plan to eradicate homelessness in the next ten years. Since then it has been my tenacious campaign.
In October of 1998 the City Council of Los Angeles passed an unprecedented Resolution in support of my proposal, followed by similar edict in January of 1999 by the LA County Board of Supervisors in support of my plan.
I have co-authored a document entitled the JOINT STATEMENT AND ACTION PLAN of Law Enforcement Working Group.
The document calling for the end of the criminalization of Homeless persons, is a statement from top law enforcement officials such as: LAPD Chief Bernard C. Parks (while he was chief), L.A. County; Sheriff Lee Baca; James K. Hahn (at time of signing City Attorney General; Gil Carcetti (then L.A. District Attorney); and State Attorney General Bill Lockyer; along with the L.A. County Sheriffs Association, and the L.A. Police Officers Association.
I have consistently demonstrated patriotism for the United States of America by supporting the Middle Eastern Polices of President George W. Bush in Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, the Sudan, and elsewhere through participating in rallies, and pro-American demonstrations in the midst of anti-American marches, etc.
When President Clinton led our nation to military conflict in the Balkans, I also was in support of him as well. I tend to be supportive of all Presidents despite their party affiliation.
I officially joined the Republican Party in late September during the California governor recall election of 2003 and have am an advocate of Republicanism and certain liberal and conservative values.
As of this date of July 22, 2007, though I have not been active in the Party of Lincoln, I remain faithful and encouraged by the polices of the Republicanism of 1854, which freed my Black West African Americanized chattel enslaved ancestors.
It is also my intent to intensify and increase my efforts to speak and up for the eternal existence of the Jewish state of Eretz Israel, even as ordained by GOD ADONAI/ELOHIM/HASHEM, The GOD of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob Israel. Shalom in Jerusalem!
Since the autumn of 2005, history seems to be placing me in a unique role around the issues of massive illegal immigration across the borders of the United States of America.
At this time, I formed the patriotic Constitutional and Civil Rights organization aptly known as the Crispus Attucks Brigade (CAB).
It is my is understanding that illegal immigration, especially emanating out of Mesoamerica (United Mexican States and Central America) is the greatest threat to the existence of American Black US citizens since chattel slavery, consequently the gravest threat to US security since the Civil War.
I have been appointed to the Chair of Choose Black America, the nation's leading Black led Civil Rights and anti-illegal immigration, pro-American organization, which is a subsidiary of FAIR (Federation American Immigration Reform).
By the way, have performed theatrically on several occasions in which I received respectable acclaim, particularly in my role as the Black American slave insurrectionist, Nat Turner.
I can also carry a vocal musical tune as heard by patriots that I have participated with in various pro-American demonstrations.
Finally, giving all thanks to GOD for my youngest daughter, Joanna D. Hayes, who won the 2004 Olympic Gold Medal in the 100 M Hurdles in record breaking time in Athens Greece and the same year was chosen as the National Track & Female Athlete of the Year, along with many other honors.
