Ted Hayes, the first
son of a Buffalo Soldier in the US Army, and Purple Heart WWII
and Korean War Veteran (serious, near death wounded in both conflicts)

Ted’s formative years (12 to 17) were significantly
affected and framed by his active participation in the Boys Scouts of
America.
From those early days of awareness as to his racial identity from France back to the Jim Crow Alabama and Maryland, into his young adulthood in Pennsylvania, New Hamphire and now California, Ted was consistantly been developing into his activism, for which he credits GOD as specifically creating him for such a time as this.
Enter The Homeless Activist
The dramatic incident ignited
Ted’s national and international persona as an activist was a Tent City
demonstration set up by local activists in Los Angeles during the winter
holiday season of 1984 . Ted’s sudden and unexpected activism garned
huge news media attention, thereby bringing unprecedented visibility to
homelessness, and thereby shocked government authorities which moved
them to take various actions to relieve homeless over the years since.
In February 1998 Ted Hayes delivered to the White
House his proposal for the creation of a
National
Homeless Plan to eradicate homelessness in the next ten
years, without government funding. Since then it has
been his cause celebrity.

In 1993, Ted ran as an official candidate for Mayor of
LA, demonstrating that he possessed a broad array of knowledge and
experience on the many issues concerning the quality of urban life.
His electoral ambitions
motivated him to seek the 9th Council District of Los Angeles in 2000
and the office of US Congressional House of Representatives District
In June 2009, Ted was elected First Vice Chair of the
Republican Party of Los Angeles (RPLAC).
Patriotic Fervor
Ted
has demonstrated his patriotism for the United States of America by
supporting the Middle Eastern Polices of President George W. Bush in
Afghanistan, Iraq, Israel, the Sudan, and elsewhere through
participating in rallies, and pro-American demonstrations in midst of
massive anti-American marches, etc.
